Forecast Discussion:

Today is shaping up to be a rainy day for much of Arizona, including the southeastern part of the state. The National Weather Service has a Flood Watch out for today, and there is also an common Moderate risk for excessive rainfall. This introduces obvious roadway safety concerns. As for the air quality though, the clouds and rain will keep air pollutants down.

After today, conditions will dry out and calm down. Cloud cover may also linger for a bit on Thursday before clearing out later.

Overall, PM10 (dust) and PM2.5 (smoke) will remain low for the rest of the period because of the rain. But ozone levels will likely trend upwards as light winds and sunnier skies return.

Check back tomorrow for more.
